Upward Mobility Program
Family Choice Healthcare is pleased to announce the launch of Upward Mobility, an internal professional development program for Personal Care Assistants. The program is designed to increase employee retention through increased job satisfaction, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Incentives include opportunities for cash bonuses of up to $2,000.00 per year.
Upward Mobility is an optional program for Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) employed by Family Choice Healthcare (FCH). Motivated PCAs who decide to utilize Upward Mobility can choose between two tracks within the program. The first track leads to recognition as a Personal Care Professional 1 (PCP1). The second track leads to recognition as a Personal Care Professional 2 (PCP2). The PCP2 track has a further optional extension leading to recognition as a Personal Care Professional 2 Disease Specialist. Each track comes with internal rewards, on the job status recognition, and opportunities for cash bonuses.
Upward Mobility was developed in response to industry research by Home Care Pulse linking high employee turnover in PCA positions to frustration over a lack of clear opportunities for career advancement. Upward Mobility provides a clear path for personal care assistants to grow personally and professionally by completing further training in their field. Whether PCAs who become PCPs stay with Family Choice Healthcare or leave to pursue caregiver positions with other companies, the training that they receive through Upward Mobility will stay with them. For some PCAs, the training they complete in Upward Mobility could be the first step towards pursuing formal training as an RN or other medical professional.
The optional, online, self-study nature of Upward Mobility will allow each employee to choose whether to complete the program, and set their own pace as they move through the training. As more training leads to more job skills, participants will enjoy increased confidence, leading to lower stress and greater enjoyment. In addition, each status designation comes with ongoing opportunities for cash bonuses, meaning that hard work won’t go unrewarded. These personal benefits to each employee will lead to a more motivated and educated workforce at Family Choice Healthcare. In turn, FCH’s clients will benefit from an even higher level of care.
